Doris Lanerie Huval

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Doris Lanerie Huval, 75, who died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Cecilia. Mrs. Huval enjoyed giving donations to the charities of, Silent Unity, Our Lady of the Snows, and Miraculous of Medals; and she was an avid collector of Thomas Kinkade artwork. ? She loved being surrounded by her family and it was her wish that she could go home to die peacefully. ?As her time to go neared, she wept a single teardrop down ?the side of her face, that her family so gently wiped away and kept. ?She was surrounded by that same family, whom she loved and adored, and that wish was granted to her - she has made it ""Safely Home."" She is survived by one son, Herbert Huval and his wife, Elizabeth, of Cecilia; three daughters, Linda H. Comeaux and her husband, Patrick, Della H. Frederick and her husband, Leroy J., all of Cecilia, and Pamela H. Melancon and her husband, Darrell J., of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Preston Lanerie, of Lafayette and Gerald Lanerie, of Sunset; three sisters, Mary Lou Allemond, of Breaux Bridge, Marilyn Bourque, of New Iberia, and Geraldine Lanerie Stouts, of Carencro; two daughter-in-law, Genny F. Huval and Karen Chandler, both of Cecilia; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russey Huval; two sons, Leonard J. and Donald R. Huval; her parents, Dudley and Louise Kennison Lanerie; and two brothers, Rodney and Patrick Lanerie. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. on Saturday until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Carl Huval, Joshua Frederick, Gerald Lanerie, Preston Lanerie, Patrick Comeaux, and Travis Roberts. Honorary pallbearer will be Herbert Huval. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
