New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Doris Lee Jumonville, 76, who passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Rev. Paul Onuegbe will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary, led by Rev. Michael Champagne, will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Doris Lee Jumonville was born in Prattville, Alabama on February 8, 1940 to the late Lilly Newman and John David Lee, II. She was a resident of New Iberia for over 50 years and worked for Cypress Bayou Casino. Mrs. Jumonville was the scorekeeper for the New Iberia Little League for several years, and her hobbies included bowling, softball, basketball, and baseball. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Lynn Hughes of New Iberia, Anita Jury and husband Stewart of Adelaide, Australia; sons, Adam Jumonville, Jr. and wife Linda of New Iberia, Joseph Jumonville and wife Valerie of Milton; grandchildren, Jennifer Sanders and partner, Sue Broussard, Tyler Hughes, John Robert Jumonville, Grant Jumonville, Catherine Jumonville, Kaitlyn Jury, Emma Jury, Abby Jumonville, Sydney Jumonville; sister, Linda Law of Titus, Alabama; brothers, John David Lee, III and wife Linda of Milton, Florida, Dwayne Lucas of Houston, Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Jumonville, Sr.; brother-in-law, Nolan Law; brothers, Everette Canty, and Roger Dale Lee. Pallbearers will be Tyler Hughes, John Robert Jumonville, Grant Jumonville, John D. Lee III, Joe Jumonville, Adam Jumonville, and Sue Broussard. The family would like to give special thanks to the ICU staff of Lafayette General Hospital and the LTAC Unit, Dr. Lirtzman, the nursing staff, and the respiratory team for their care and compassion.
