Doris Lafont

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1 pm, on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel, in Cecilia, for Doris Thibodeaux Lafont, 77, who passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:30 am on Saturday and continue until 12:45 pm. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Doris was a devoted wife of 60 years and a loving mother. Family was her whole world - her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, most especially her grandchildren and great grandbabies, whom she loved and adored. She was an avid reader who enjoyed reading books and her Bible daily. Doris stood strong in her faith and in her daily walk with God. She was a very loving and caring person - the most kindhearted person anyone could ever know. Doris enjoyed the simplest of things in life - always easy going - always smiling and laughing. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Hillard Lafont of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Kenneth Lafont and Willie Lafont (Gloria), all of Breaux Bridge; her daughter, Barbara Lafont of Breaux Bridge; her sister, Mae Lafont and her husband, Darrell of New Iberia, her sisters-in-law, Josie-Ann Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge and Freida Lafont of New Iberia; 8 grandchildren, Pauline Domingue, Cami Johnson, Chase Lafont, Tray Patin, Austin Lafont, Blake McCarty, Daniel Carter, and Hannah Carter; 4 great-grandchildren, Avery Domingue, Mariah Johnson, Taylan Johnson, and Tatum Lafont; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Rita Tauzin Thibodeaux; her sister, Lucille Thibodeaux; her brother, Raymond Thibodeaux; a grandson, Blake McCarty and her brother-in-law, Howard Lafont. Pallbearers will be Tray Patin, Nolan Thibodeaux, Chase Lafont, Donald Picard, Daniel Johnson, and Johnny Blanchard. The family would like to give special thanks to Ms. Tiny and Marsha with Hospice, Becky LeBlanc and Fr.
