Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, August 22, 2022 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Doris Huval Landry, 94, who passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Ochsner St. Martin Hospital.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home on Monday from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am by Tina Landry.
Father Keith Landry will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Dwayne Periou and Amanda Bouchereau. Gift Bearers will be Angela Mitchell and Tennille Soignier.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #2 in Breaux Bridge.
Doris was the Cafeteria Manager at Breaux Bridge Junior High for 28 years. She retired from the school system at the age of 55, and then went to work for the Sugar Mill for 7 years. Doris enjoyed going to the Food Service Association conventions with her daughters through the years. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson. Doris enjoyed going to the casino and playing Bouree and Bingo. She was very proud of her title of 1st runner-up of Mardi Gras Queen at St. Agnes Nursing Home. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Rita Seneca (Mickey), Nancy Latiolais (Donald) and Billie Periou (Dennis); son, Jackie Landry (Theresa); grandchildren, Amanda Bouchereau (Vince), Tennille Soignier (Chris), Terri Bijeaux (Colby), Angela Mitchell (Jeremy), Murphy Latiolais (Heather), Travis Latiolais (Tasha), Kyle Latiolais (Desiree), Dwayne Periou (Alison), Daniel Periou (Amber), Weston Periou (Karen) and Jesse Landry (Brooke); 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Huval (Amy); and sister, Mathilda Allemand.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Landry; great-great-grandchild, Issac Bouchereau; daughter-in-law, Dana Huval; parents, Abby Huval and Angelle Thibodeaux Huval; infant brother, Jessie Huval; and sisters, Ruby Menard and Emily Angelle.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Bouchereau, Austin Bouchereau, Dillon Bouchereau, Billy LeBlanc, Jr., Laken Verret, Gage Hamlett, Brilan Hamlett and Carson Periou.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Landry, Rhett Landry, Landon Periou, Bryson Periou, Ayden Hyatt, Hunter Bijeaux and Alex Latiolais.
The family wishes to thank St. Agnes Nursing Home for their care and compassion during the last four years of her life, the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Martin Hospital for the help and care given on the last day of her life and also to Dr. Degatur and his staff for all the years of service.
