Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, for Doris “DaDae” Ledet, 82, who passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday April 29, 2022, from 7:00 am to 10:00am, with a Rosary being recited at 9:00 am.
Rev. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Dessie Ledet and R’manee Zenon. Gift bearers will be Crystal Ledet, Heidi Daniels, and Kimberly Maze.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Doris was a retired homemaker and a nanny with several families, which consisted of the Pellerin family and Landry/Castille family. In Doris’ “DaDae’s” free time, she enjoyed holidays with family, playing cards with family and friends, going to the casino, sitting outside under the carport, cooking, baking, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, most of all she loved sitting on the porch with her lifelong friend, Hazel Jean-Batiste. Doris will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her three sons, Michael Joseph Ledet of Breaux Bridge, Robert Joseph Ledet, Sr. (Mary) of FL; Donald Joseph Ledet, Sr. (Adrienne) of Breaux Bridge, and Dessie Ledet, daughter-in-law of Opelousas; Stephanie Ledet, daughter-in-law of MA.; her brothers, Harold Williams (Theresa) of Lafayette, LA, Andrew Henry Williams (Lou) of Breaux Bridge, LA and Jeffery Williams of Breaux Bridge, LA; sisters, Dalta Watts (Rico) of New Orleans, LA and Doretha Batiste (Alton) of Cecilia, LA.; 11 grandchildren, Crystal Ledet, Donald “T-Don” Ledet, Jr., Heidi Daniels, Robert Ledet, Kimberly Maze, Ranada Hypolite, Elijah Batiste, James Jones, Aaron Delahoussaye, Jacob Ledet and Raymore Ledet; and 9 great grandchildren, Dakotha Daniels, Christian Williams, Deion Hypolite, R’manee Zenon, Jessie Daniels, Jr., Kayne Daniels, Amari Davis, Dae’Vion Francis and Raina Renee Ledet.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rene “Man” Ledet, parents, Harry and Eva Ledet Williams; sisters Dorothy Williams Valere and Mable Victor; and great granddaughter Algiah Davis.
Pallbearers will be Donald Ledet, Michael Ledet, Robert Jude Ledet, Christian Williams, Louis Rowan, John “Tiger” Williams, Glenn Maze, and Jessie Daniels Sr.
