New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Doris "Te-Neg" Menard, 75, who passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mark Derise will officiate. Born on February 1, 1934 in Delcambre, Mr. Menard retired from Teledyne, with over 30 years of service. A veteran of the US Army, he was also a musician, playing the guitar and singing in his band, "The Country Connection". Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Geraldine Babineaux Menard of New Iberia; sons, Dwayne Gaskins of New Iberia, Wayne Menard and wife Pam of Slidell; daughter, Chaney Melvin and husband Mike of Lafayette; brother, Tibby Menard of Picayune, MS; sister, Vernis Robicheaux and husband Dalton of New Iberia; grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Kerry, Justin, Joey, Samantha, Jacob, Brittany; great grandchildren, Kayra, Cheslee, Tyler, Danaka, Victoria, Jolie, Hoyt; step great grandchildren, Courtney, Cory, Jenna; and a special pet bird, Summer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Olina Duhon Menard; son, Mike Menard; daughter, Angel Menard; brothers, Cleveland Mayard, LeRoy Mayard; sister, Lillian Bonin. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 3:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331, is in charge of arrangements.
