St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Dorothy Ann Lavergne, 84, who passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm on Tuesday.A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Tuesday by Russella Menard.Rev. Jason Vidrine will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Gabbie and Braylon DeVillier.Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Dorothy, affectionately known to family and friends, as “Nan-Nan Dot”, was employed at the Evangeline Pepper Company for over 10 years and at Cajun Chef, as a secretary for over 20 years. Dorothy was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and was also a faithful Adorer at the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for many years. As a pastime, she enjoyed reading, doing word find puzzles, and going to the casino, but she especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy will be remembered for her unconditional love for family, and her kindness and generosity towards others. She is survived by her best friend and love of her life for 65 years, William Landry; five Godchildren, Kathleen DeVillier (Allen), Lorna Boudreaux (Huey), Sherdell Landry, Toby Landry (Brooke), and Wade DeVillier (Cheree); two aunts, Enola Boudreaux and Hilda Bourque; and numerous cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Yola Barras Lavergne; her grandparents; and numerous aunts uncles. Pallbearers will be Wade DeVillier, Braylon DeVillier, Roland Landry, Toby Landry, Waylon DeVillier, and Louis Barras.
