St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at ?10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Dorothy Daspit, 72, who died Friday, September 23, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Ms. Daspit was a lifetime resident of St. Martinville. ?She worked for the State of Louisiana for 32 years in the Office of Family Support in St. Martinville. ?She was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. ?She also donated her time as a volunteer at the St. Martin de Tours Church Museum and Perpetual Adoration Chapel.

Survivors include her brother, Conrad Daspit and his wife Gloria of St. Martinville; her mom, Mrs. Mary Talley; her sisters, Barbara Talley, Sandy Talley Lasseigne and her husband, Tony and their daughters, Brooke and Toni, Aimee Talley Landry and her son, Dennis Landry, and Michele Talley Bourque and her husband, Pat, and their children, Dusty and Peter; her brothers, Lawrence Talley and his wife, Nancy, and their children, Shawn, Matthew and Lori, Terry Talley and his wife, Arlette; Steve Talley and his children, Angel, Misty and Hayden; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Lawrence Daspit of Lafayette; and her nieces, Jennifer Daspit and her husband, Kevin Malhiet, and their daughters, Kaitlyn, Molly, Ashley and Abigail, and Kimberly Daspit Gothreaux, and her husband, Chad, and their sons, Noah and Adam; her nephews, Chad Daspit and his wife, Nicole and their children, Chloe, Asia and Korbin, and Kenneth Daspit and his children, Rowan, Triston and Canon.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louisiana LeBlanc Daspit; her father, Conrad Alton Daspit, Sr.; her dad, Lloyd Talley; her brother, Lawrence Joseph Daspit; and twin nephews, Dexter Paul Daspit and David Joseph Daspit.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 1:00 pm. on Tuesday and continue until time of service on Wednesday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
The family would like to thank the staff of Family Circle, especially Lucy and Tiffany. ?And a special thank you to the medical professionals who cared for Ms. Daspit over the years, especially, Dr. Mike Mounir and staff, Dr. Berticcini, Dr. Granger, Dr. Malek, and the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center who was so caring in the last moments of her life.
The family would also like to give special thanks to the sisters of the Carmelite Monastery and the Sisters of Missionaries of Charity who were a constant source of spiritual support.
Pallbearers will be, Terry Talley, Lawrence Talley, Dennis Landry, Matthew Talley, Chad Gothreaux, Chad Daspit and Kenneth Daspit.
