Dorothy Poche

Ponchatoula - Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM, on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula, for Dorothy Jo Poche, 79, who passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 in New Iberia. Born on November 1, 1929 in Hammond, Mrs. Poche was the secretary and treasurer for the family business, Allied Gas Inc, in Jeanerette, from 1964 to 1985. A member of the First United Methodist Church, and a 50 year member of the Home Demonstration Club, she enjoyed playing badminton, and reading. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann Robicheaux and husband Terry James of New Iberia; son, Paul R. Poche and wife Kathleen of Broussard; grandchildren, Tiffany Fontaine and husband Hall of Youngsville, Travis Poche of Carencro, Timothy Poche of Broussard, Kimberly Ann Comeaux and husband Dean of New Iberia, Rene Paul Robicheaux of New Iberia; great grandchild, Cole Comeaux of New Iberia. She was preceded in death by husband, Elmer "Buster" Poche; parents, Robert R. and Verlie Hyde Greer; brother, Robert H. Greer; sister, Elizabeth Ann Williams. Pallbearers will be Travis Poche, Timothy Poche, Rene Paul Robicheaux, Hall Fontaine, and Dean Comeaux. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA. 70501. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 8:30 AM until 12 Noon at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
