Douglas J. Davis, Sr.

Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Douglas Joseph Davis, Sr., 75, who passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Mr. Davis was employed by Atlas Feed Mill for 45 years. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Peter Claver and the True Friends of LaPointe. Survivors include his wife, Grace Williams Davis, of Breaux Bridge; four sons, Aaron Williams, of Thibodaux, Eddie Williams, Sr., of Baton Rouge, Larry Davis and his wife, Lynn, of New Iberia, and Jerome Davis, of Breaux Bridge; three daughters, Dianna Locuste and husband, Donald, of New Orleans, Georgia Landry and her husband, Earlie, of Cecilia, and Connie Davis, of Breaux Bridge; 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Davis; two sons, Timothy and Douglas Davis, Jr.; three brothers, Harold, Soloman, and Herbert Davis; and six sisters, Dora Williams, Bernice Davis, Bertha Williams, Nursie St. Julien, Audrey Mae Goodie, and Mary Lee Thomas. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday.
