Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Drake James Scrantz, 27, who passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:30 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday and continue at 8 am on Thursday until 10:45 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Fr. Neil Pettit will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Tammy Elliot and Kayla Fernandez. Gift bearers will be Angie Hebert and Loudy Dupuis. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Drake worked hard and loved his job as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and playing with his dogs, Diamond, Maw and Zoey. Drake cherished his moments with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by them. He is survived by his parents, David and Elizabeth Meaux Scrantz; brothers, Blair Scrantz and wife Elizabeth and Eric Scrantz and wife Tammy Elliot; niece and godchild, Elly Scrantz; nephews, Murphy Scrantz and Henry Scrantz; godfather, Ray Dupuis; godmother, Angie Hebert; and godchildren, Mariah Chiasson and Ryker Chautin. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Evariste and Cecile Scrantz; maternal grandmother, Earline Meaux; and uncle, Roy Scrantz. Pallbearers will be Blair Scrantz, Eric Scrantz, Colby Fontenot, Brandon Scrantz, Trent Collins, and Myles Stelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Murphy Scrantz, Ray Dupuis, Angie Hebert, and Abel Chiasson.
