Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:45 pm on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Dustin Florence, 40, who passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 2:30 pm on Saturday.
Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Funeral Service.
Dustin was a man with a big heart who loved unconditionally. As a pastime he enjoyed playing guitar, drawing and coloring, playing dice, taking pictures of nature, doing carpentry work, and watching movies. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Dustin will be fondly remembered for giving the best hugs, his intelligence, and not to mention how peculiar he was about everything.
He is survived by his loving mother, Linda DeHaven Florence and his father, Steve of Arnaudville; daughters, Jenna Duplechien (daughter of Anna Johnson) and companion, Shane Dauphine of Henderson, and Dusti Taylor of Arnaudville; sons, Ryker Florence, Dawson Florence, and Nathan Florence (sons of Racheal Peeks), all of Arnaudville; grandchildren, Ayce Duplechien and Brynlee Duplechien of Henderson; sister, Amanda Florence and companion, Juston Tuttle of Arnaudville; maternal grandmother, Claire Wright and spouse Lowell of Eutis, FL.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard DeHaven; maternal grandmother, Gwynne DeHaven; paternal grandfather, Joseph Florence, Sr., paternal grandmother, Joyce Florence; and his brother, John Allen Florence.
