New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Dustin Paul Richard, 27, who passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, in St. Martin Parish. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A resident of New Iberia, Dustin was born on August 12, 1989 in Abbeville, and had worked in the oilfield for several years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, playing pool, carpentry work, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Dustin was always willing to help anyone. Survivors include his father, Earnest Paul Richard of New Iberia; mother, Tammy LeBlanc Lavergne of Lake Charles; daughter, Kya Lynn Richard and her mother Danielle Franks of Coteau; sisters, Amanda Duplantis and husband Brennen of New Iberia, Jessica Lynn Migues of Bull Island; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Richard, Justine Emily Domingue Hendryx, John LeBlanc, and Hazel Bourque LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Kevin Hoover, Seth Giarratano, Roland "Trey" Derouen, III, Michael LeBlanc, Brian Miller, and J.J. Richard. Honorary pallbearers include Kerry Thibodeaux, and Brennen Duplantis.
