New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Dustin James Verrett, 24, who passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in New Iberia.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rev. Mark Gondron will officiate.
Born on December 18, 1984, Dustin worked as a carpenter for Ted Lyons Construction. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his father, Tommy Verrett and wife Monica of New Iberia; his fiance, Jodie Daze of New Iberia; grandparents, Delton "Buddy" Sober, Sr. of Alexandria, Caroline Verrett Gerard and husband Kenneth of New Iberia; brother, Corey Lynn Verrett of New Iberia; uncles, Gerald Verrett and wife Michelle of New Iberia, Sherman Verrett and wife Toni of Abbeville, Darrell Sober and wife Annette of Alexandria; aunts, Pam Boutte and husband Timmy of New Iberia, Darlene DeSoto of Alaska. Survivors also include several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dana Sober Verrett; brother, Kyle David Verrett; grandparents, Corrine Sober, and Jerry Junior Verrett; uncle, Delton "Andy" Sober, Jr.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 10:30 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
