St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Dwight L. Dautreuil, 74, who passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, and continue on Thursday at 9:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Rusty P. Richard will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Dwight Dautreuil and Darlene Bergeron. Gift bearers will be Melanie Guidry and Brian Dautreuil.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Dwight was born to the late Roy and Electa Melancon Dautreuil. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Dwight retired from Halliburton after 30 + years of service. He enjoyed fishing and making fishing lures and jigs. Dwight will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 52 years, Elda Dautreuil; sons, Dwight J. Dautreuil and wife Norma, and Brian C. Dautreuil; daughters, Darlene D. Bergeron and husband Brandon, and Melanie D. Guidry and husband Jeffrey; brother, Robert Dautreuil; sister, Vickie D. Walker and husband Bobby; seven grandchildren, Brandi Dautreuil, Jessie Dautreuil and spouse Brittany, Blair Guidry, Callie Dautreuil, Annie Dautreuil, Drake Bergeron, and Nicole B. Meaux; and one great grandchild, Mason Joseph Dautreuil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Electa Melancon Dautreuil, brother, Elden Dautreuil, sisters, Dixie Mae Doucet, Dianna Mae Dautreuil, Linda Dugas, and Lusrita Dautreuil.
Pallbearers will be Dwight J Dautreuil, Brian C Dautreuil, Jessie Dautreuil, Blair Guidry, Christopher Tisdale, and Brandon Bergeron.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Guidry and Mason J. Dautreuil.
