St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Earl Armond Dundas, Sr., 81, who died Monday, November 13, 2006 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville.
A native of New Orleans, Mr. Dundas was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. ?He worked at the Diamond Crystal Salt Mine for 28 years until its closing in 1980; he then took a position with Gulf State Research Institute until his retirement. ?He was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church Usher's Society. ?He had a love for gardening, especially vegetables and flowers; he also loved the outdoors and caring for his pets, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Theresa Robertson Dundas of St. Martinville; three sons, Earl Dundas, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of St. Martinville, Gerard Dundas of St. Martinville, and Jeffery Dundas and his wife, Darlene of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Tracey Dundas and her husband, Arnold Baker of New Orleans; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Ethel LeCabe Dundas; and one brother, Everette Dundas, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and continue until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Earl Dundas, III, Michael Dundas, Jeffery Dundas, Jr., Tori Dundas, Denzel Dundas, and Devron Dundas.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. William Harkrider and the entire staff at Dauterive Hospital for their care and compassion.
