New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM , Saturday, June 16, 2012 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Earl Joseph Hardy, 97, who died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery . Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM Saturday. Born on March 16, 1915 , Mr. Hardy retired from Dresser Atlas, and was a former usher at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. A member of the Pioneer Oil Club, and Woodmen of the World, his hobbies included fishing, traveling, dancing, and playing bingo. Survivors include his son, John Earl Hardy and wife Toni O'Brian Hardy of New Iberia ; daughter, Debra Katherine Hardy Bodin and husband Wayne Gilbert H. Bodin of Lafayette; brothers, LeRoy Hardy of Midway, Texas, Sidney Hardy of Breaux Bridge; sister, Thelma Davenport of Bossier City; grandchildren, David Bodin of Lafayette, Ellen Bodin Bayless of Broussard, Patrick Hardy of Houston; great grandchildren, Courtney Bodin, Benjamin Bayless, Emily Bayless, Laura Grace Hardy, and Emma Hardy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Turner Hardy; second wife, Mae Babineaux Legnon; daughter, Susan Claire Hardy; parents, Martin and Blanche Guilbeau Hardy; daughter-in-law, Tina Hardy; brothers, Ed Hardy, Henry Hardy, Ray Hardy, Nathan Hardy; sisters, Mae LeBlanc, Toot Solis, Irene Spelman, and Kim Talbot. Pallbearers will be David Bodin, Patrick Hardy, Wynn Murphy, Ronnie Moore, Michael Hardy, Clifford Hardy, and Russell Turner.
