Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Earl "Sonny" Hollier, 72, who passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.
Sonnys family requests that family and friends gather together for a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 644 Washington Street, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, following his funeral service.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The concelebrant will be Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert. Readers will be Faith "Nikki" Hollier and Crystal Hollier. Gift bearers will be Elise Hollier and Rhett Hollier.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Sonny attended the University of Louisiana (formerly U.S.L.), before transferring to NLU/ULM School of Pharmacy, where he graduated in 1967. He was the owner and operator of Acadiana/Hospital Thrift Pharmacy in Breaux Bridge from 1972-1999.
An avid outdoorsman and sportsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling, Sonny was a past member of the Catahoula Hunting and Pelba Hunting Clubs. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pelican Allegros of Louisiana RV Club, and the Breaux Bridge Quarterback Club. As well as being an avid backer and supporter of UL Ragin Cajun Athletics, he was also a member of the Ragin Cajun Athletic Foundation.
Sonny served as a past Grand Knight and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council in Parks, and is a current member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2398 in Breaux Bridge. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, the Louisiana Pharmacists Association, and the American Pharmacists Association.
He is survived by his loving wife, Aline Roy Hollier of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Robert Hollier and wife, Faith "Nikki", of Breaux Bridge, LA, Royce Hollier of Woodlands, TX, and Reggie Hollier and wife, Crystal, of Humble, TX; and three grandchildren, Rhett Hollier and Elise Hollier of Woodlands, TX, and Grant Hollier of Humble, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Gabriel Hollier, Sr. and Rose Mae Guidry Hollier; and his brother, Lowell James Hollier.
