Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Crossroads Church in Lafayette for Earl Allen Huval, 68, who died Monday, May 31, 2010 at his residence in Cecilia.
Musical selections for the funeral service will be, 'Nearer My God to Thee', 'I'll Rise Again', 'Amazing Grace', 'How Great Thou Art', and 'Common Worship' which will be sung by Jodi Bulloch, and Earl's neice, Denise Angelle.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Pastor Jeff Ables will conduct the services.
Earl was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting with the Indian Bayou Hunting Club that he was a member of for many years. He had 5 camps that he would go to regularly and would spend as much time as he could in the outdoors. He loved fishing, going to the Atchafalaya Basin and anything that involved being in the woods. He enjoyed lots of different sports and was a life time New Orleans Saints Fan. He cherished his garden and would whole heartily give the vegetables that it produced to his family and friends. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Moreau Huval of Cecilia; twin sons, Scotty Damian Huval and his wife, Diane of Breaux Bridge, and Scott Christopher Huval and his wife, Melissa of Cecilia; one daughter, Scarlett H. Guidry and her husband, Kevin of Cecilia; four brothers, Teddy Huval of St. Martinville, Jack Huval of Lafayette, James 'Jim' Huval of Arnaudville, and Carl Huval of Vicksburg, Mississippi; one sister, Dorothy Blanchard of Cecilia; and eight grandchildren, Natalie Jean Guidry, Hannah Adele Guidry, Jevin Allen Huval, Lani Jane Huval, Benjamin Marshall Guidry, Harli Morgan Huval, Haili Faye Huval, and Sawyer John Christopher Huval.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Huval and Ada Angelle Huval; one brother, Eric Huval; and one sister, Adel Angelle.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia, and will continue on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Crossroads Church in Lafayette.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Blanchard, Teddy Huval, Luke Menard, Gerald Hebert, Paul Latiolais, and Patrick Trahan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Moreau, AJ Olivier, and Elliot Miller.
