Earl James Landry, Sr.

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 23, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Cecilia for Earl James Landry, Sr., 59, who died on Friday, July 20, 2007 at his residence. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Mr. Earl worked as a farmer in the sugar cane industry, fished deepwater crawfish and was a dump truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to all that knew him. Survivors include his wife, Madeline V. Landry of Cecilia; his sons, Earl "Jamie" Landry, Jr. and his wife, Shawna of Lafayette, and Braylan Landry of Cecilia; his brothers, Rodney Landry of Breaux Bridge, Alton Landry and his wife, Mary Ruth, and James Landry and his wife, Peggy, all of Cecilia; his sister, Luna Eve Guidry and her husband, Nolan of Cecilia; and his grandchildren, Allie Richard and Morgan Landry. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shawn Landry; his parents Felix and Electa Landry; his brothers, Edwin, Wilson, George and Herbert Landry; and his sister Beatrice Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2007 and continue at 8:00 a.m.on Monday, July 23, 2007 until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Jamie Landry, Braylan Landry, Jim Landry, Kevin Landry, Ron Landry and Randy Vitte. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Vitte and Homer Vitte, Jr. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mr. Earl's nurse, Jolane Doucet, Dr. Paul Rees and his staff, to the staff at Hospice of Acadiana, Deacon Davis, Father Chang and Father Champagne.
