Earl J. Migues, Sr.

Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, December 18, 2017, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Earl J. Migues Sr., 76, who passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Rev. Gregory Chauvin will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until 9:15 am. Mr. Migues was born on March 30, 1941 to the late Robert and Nola Derise Migues, and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Jeanerette. He retired as a mechanic from Morton Salt after 39 years of service, and was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Mr. Migues enjoyed watching LSU sports, fishing, going to the casino, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Shinn Migues of Lydia; sons, Shawn Migues and wife Tanya of Lydia, Earl Migues and wife Linda of Lydia; daughter, Vita Migues and husband Jerry of New Iberia; brother, Raymond Migues of Bayou Vista; sister, Anaise Migues Rachal of Bayou Vista; grandchildren, Caleb Migues, Aaron Migues, Layla Migues, Keylee Migues, Kaylee Migues, and Evan Migues. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Migues, Wilfred Migues, Lawless "EG" Migues, Eugene Migues, and a sister, Elise Stansbury. Pallbearers will be Shawn Migues, Earl Migues, Jerry Migues, Caleb Migues, Aaron Migues, Evan Migues, and Duffy Shinn.
