Earl Patin

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Earl Patin, 84, who died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at a Lafayette hospital. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Rev. Allen Breaux will be the Celebrant with Rev. Chanh Nguyen as the Con-Celebrant. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Earl proudly served our country during World War II. During that time he was stationed in England, France and Germany. He was a rifleman in the European theater of operations and a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. As a young man Earl worked with his father on their 200 acre farm. Earl retired after 25 years of service from the Atchafalaya Basin Leve District. He also served as an usher at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for many years. Survivors include his wife Verna Frederick Patin of Breaux Bridge; his sons, Marty Patin and wife Lisa of Lafayette and David Patin and wife Cheryl of Breaux Bridge; his grandsons, Trey, Ian, Britt and Reed Patin He was preceded in death by his parents Alexis Patin, Jr. and Martha Melancon Patin and his sister Thelma P. Guidry. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening. Pallbearers will be Marty, David, Trey, Ian, Britt and Troy Patin Honorary pallbearer will be Reed Patin The family wishes to thank the 4th floor nursing staff and doctors at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for their care and compassion given to Earl and their family during their stay. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 312-6c Guilbeau Road, Lafayette, LA 70506. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
