Earl "Red" Ransonet

Lydia – Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Earl “Red” Ransonet, 89, of Lydia, who passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Entombment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery, in Jeanerette, with Military Honors by the Iberia Honor Guard.

Pastor Kevin Rowe will officiate.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 8:30 am until 11:00 am at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 10:00 am.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Ransonet was born on May 11, 1934, to the late Irvin and Thelma Van Brocklin Ransonet. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korea War, and worked in the oilfield most of his life. “Red” enjoyed gardening, trolling for shrimp, and smoking his pipe. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Marie Joyce Guillotte Ransonet; children, Mark Ransonet, Vera Ann Thibodeaux, Bruce James Ransonet (Brenda), Karen Marie Ransonet, and Phillip John Ransonet (Rachel); grandchildren, Randal Thibodeaux, Joshua Domingue, Ashley R. Primeaux (Jarrod), Sean Ransonet (Alicia), Brian Ransonet, Derek Ransonet, and Devon Ransonet; great grandchildren, Spencer Ransonet, Scarlet Ransonet, Mason Primeaux, Carson Primeaux, and Aubrey Domingue; sister, Emily Kyzar (Jim); and brothers, Clifford Ransonet (Juanita), and Anthony Ransonet (Marcelle).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Ransonet, Gerald Ransonet, Edward Ransonet, and Peter Ransonet.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Ransonet, Josh Ransonet Domingue, Derek Ransonet, Devon Ransonet, Randal Thibodeaux, and Brian Ransonet.
