St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Earline N. James, 73, who passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville from 7:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:30 am on Saturday. Rev. Abelardo Gabriel SVD will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The Lectors will be Megan Berard and Kathy Bourda. The Gift Bearers will be Avenelle Patt and Jayden Maxie.Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Earline was born October 14, 1947, in Lafayette, LA. She was a retired educator with the St. Martin Parish School Board for 33 years. Earline taught business administration courses at Carver High School, Breaux Bridge Sr. High School, and St. Martinville Sr. High School. Teaching was her passion, and she thoroughly loved her job. Earline was dedicated to her profession and to her students. She was a member of the Drexel Society, the Notre Dame Monday Rosary Group, St. Paul Benevolent Society, St. Martin Parish Chapter-Southern University Alumni Federation, and a board member of Parks Community Support Services, Inc. Earline was a breast cancer survivor and faithfully attended the P.C.S.S. annual Breast Cancer Walk. Earline was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church, a devout Catholic with immense faith in God. Family was everything to Earline - she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Earline was known for being hospitable; always cherished cooking, visiting, and taking care of her family. As a pastime, she enjoyed shopping, sewing, and, most importantly, being with her grandchildren. Even though she was a quiet person, she was an attentive listener and a confidante to many. Earline will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jessie James of St. Martinville; daughters, Meredith Nora (Chad) of Lafayette and Dana Maxie (Stephen) of Denham Springs; grandchildren, Chelsea Nora, Zachary Nora, Dillon Maxie, and Jayden Maxie; brother, Joseph Harold Narcisse of Parks; her sister, Elizabeth Dauphine (Lewis) of Parks; godchildren, Julie Dauphine of Parks, Nathan Charles of St. Martinville, and Steven Nedie of St. Martinville; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Livingston and Mildred Solari Narcisse; her sister, Mary Dell Berard; and a host of in-laws.Pallbearers will be Wayne Charles, Wendell Charles, Terence Dauphine, Dillon Maxie, Shane Narcisse, and Craig Patt.
