Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2007, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Eddie James Laneaux, 49, who died Monday, February 5, 2007 at his residence.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Eddie loved D.J.'ing and was an avid fan of football, such as the New Orleans Saints, L.S.U. Tigers, and Cecilia High School Bulldogs, in which he played football. ?He was a volunteer for many organizations in the area. ?Eddie loved his family with all his heart and will be remembered for his kindness, gentle smile and providing everyone with good music at celebrations as a D.J.
Survivors include his father, Rosemond John Laneaux of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Elizabeth L. Tauzin and her husband, Richard of Poche Bridge, Rita Gail Laneaux of Henderson, and Jennifer L. Champagne and her husband, Larry of Butte LaRose; his brother, Lambert Laneaux and his wife, Laurie of Cecilia; 12 nieces and nephews; and 21 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alida Ann Landry Laneaux; and his brother, Lester John Laneaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until time of service on Thursday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Pallbearers will be Lambert Laneaux, Corey Laneaux, Richard Tauzin, Larry Champagne, Joseph Daigle, and Lester Daigle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Laneaux and Brian Cannino.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
