Edmae Romero Crochet

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Edmae Romero Crochet, 94, who passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Catholic Daughters Court Blessed Mother Teresa, will be prayed at 6:30 pm Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am. A native of Abbeville, Mrs. Crochet was born on February 10, 1923 to the late Gustave and Eudea Gary Romero. She enjoyed collecting knick knacks, building puzzles, cooking, embroidering, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Crochet also iron and babysat for many people throughout the years. Survivors include her daughters, Deanna Champagne and husband Gus of New Iberia, Delores Walker of Lafayette, Brenda Ransonet and husband Bruce of New Iberia; son, Daniel Crochet of New Iberia; brother, Elmo Romero of New Iberia; special people who meant a lot to her, Raqueal, Nichole, and Tessie; 16 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 29 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elie Crochet; daughter, Mary Jane Rogers, daughter, Barbara Peltier, brothers, Wildia Romero, Wilfred Romero, Willie Romero, Whitney Romero, Joseph Romero, Roy Romero, sisters, Edmia Romero, Lillie Mae Thibodeaux, Anna Mae Comeaux, Victoria Gary, son-in-law, Jerry Rogers, granddaughters, Laurie Baudoin, Kitty Rogers, and a grandson, Sonny Rogers. Pallbearers will be Rayward Dugas Jr., Ray Champagne, Aaron Comeaux, Chance Crochet, Nicholas Peltier, and Brian Ransonet.
