Edmond Joseph Patterson

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., on Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Edmond Joseph Patterson, 72, who passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. Interment will follow Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Fr. Augustina will officicate at the Funeral Mass. Edmond attended Cohen High School in New Orleans and graduated from Xavier University with a degree in Music Education. He was employed at Blessed Sacrament Church where he served as the church organist, cantor, and also a secretary. His bright baritone voice helped people find their souls which gave them a sense of strength and delight. Survivors include his close friend of over 50 years, Hubert Ifield, of New Orleans; his sister, Brenda White, of St. Martinville; two nieces, Danielle Fontenette, of St. Martinville, and Eva Morton, of Philadelphia, PA; and two nephews, Oscar Morton and Louis White, both of St. Martinville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evans and Marie Mercier Patterson; and a sister, Marie Pierre. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
