Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Edna Trosclair Belaire, 85, who passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at her residence.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of Mass.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday by the Anse La Butte Rosary Group.
Father Dustin Dought will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Colleen LeBlanc, Amber Belaire and Heather Belaire. Gift Bearers will be her great-grandchildren. Altar Servers will be Dominic Belaire and Ava Belaire.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #2.
Edna was a devout Catholic and life-long parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She volunteered countless hours and loved to decorate the church for Christmas. Edna was a member of the Anse La Butte Rosary Group for 59 years, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, and she never missed a Friday at the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration.
Edna was 1955 graduate of St. Bernard High School. She loved exercising, mowing the grass and gardening. As a pastime, she enjoyed keeping her mind sharp with word search puzzles and solving Sudoku puzzles using ink.
Edna never missed cooking Sunday lunch for her family. She cherished time spent with her family and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Edna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bobby Belaire; sons, Lennard Belaire (Barbara) and Allen Belaire (Pam); daughter, Terrie Broussard (Craig); grandchildren, Blake Belaire (Heather), Josh Belaire (Amber), Colby Belaire, Colleen Belaire LeBlanc (Austin), Derek Broussard and Dylan Broussard; and her great-grandchildren, Ava, Olivia, Julien, Dominic and Louis Belaire and Braylon and Brennan LeBlanc.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Belaire; parents, George Trosclair and Maria Bergeron Trosclair; and brothers, Jules Trosclair and Sidney Trosclair.
Pallbearers will be Blake Belaire, Josh Belaire, Colby Belaire, Derek Broussard, Dylan Broussard, and Austin LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lennard Belaire, Allen Belaire, Craig Broussard, Vaughn Trosclair, and Mark Trosclair.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Mrs. Edna's caregivers: Claudette Mouisset, Kelly Menard, Isabelle Huval, and Tammy Frishberg, as well as Hope Hospice and nurse Kelsey Cleveland, for their care and compassion.
