Edna Marie Charles

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2006, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Edna Moore Charles, 92, who died Monday, February 13, 2006 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Interment will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Survivors include her five grandchildren, Anastasia Blanchard, James Blanchard, Jr. and his wife, Peggy, Cornell Blanchard, Sr., Bryant Keith Blanchard and his wife, Tiffany, and Melissa Blanchard; seven great grandchildren, Ernie Filer, Jr., Quincy Filer, Christopher Filer, Darion Blanchard, Adam Blanchard, Isiah Blanchard, Ashley Blanchard, and Cornell Blanchard, Jr.; seven great-great grandchildren, Ernie Filer, III, Jaylon Gardner, Armanie Blanchard, Yasmine Filer, Dasha Jones, Darion Blanchard, and Nia Blanchard; and a special niece, Nora Babin, and nephew, Samuel Charles; along with a host of other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Charles; her parents, Samuel and Aspazie Moore; her son, Francis James Blanchard, Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Blanchard; and one granddaughter, Doris Marie Blanchard. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and continue until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be James Blanchard, Jr., Cornell Blanchard, Darion Blanchard, Ernie Filer, Jr., Quincy Filer, and Glenn Zeaunc Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Blanchard, Clyde Gedward, Jr., and Darrell Rosenthal. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
