New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Edward John LeBlanc, 88, who passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia.
Rev. Korey LaVergne will be the Celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
As per request of the family, there will be no visitation.
A native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish, Edward was born on August 13, 1930 to the late Norbert and Marie Romero LeBlanc. He worked as a milk deliveryman for Pelican Creamery for many years.
Edward was the husband of the late Lelia Moore LeBlanc for 60 years. He was the father of Bertha "Bertie" Dulin of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Jody Bourgeois and husband David Bourgeois of Youngsville, Louisiana, and Cheryl Gachassin and husband Ricky Gachassin of New Iberia, Louisiana. He is survived by six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.
Pallbearers will be Heidi Bourgeois, David Bourgeois, Jr., Starla Hymel, Cheramie Gachassin, Skye Dulin-Maddox, and Krystal Lumpkin.
Honorary pallbearers are David Bourgeois, Sr., Keith Dugas, Cohen Bourgeois, and Emerson Bourgeois.
The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the staff, doctors, nurses, CNAs, priests, and residents at Consolata Nursing Home; and Heart of Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion that was shown to Edward.
