New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 9:00 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Edward D. Lucas, 88, who died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in the St. Marcellus Cemetery in Rynella. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM. Born on October 26, 1924, Mr. Lucas worked for the Texas Pipeline for 43 years, and was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge No. 173. Survivors include his wife, Juliette Viator Lucas of New Iberia; sons, Luke D. Lucas and wife Belinda of New Iberia, Mark Lucas and wife Sue Zahn of Cypress, Texas; daughters, Beverly Morgan and husband Jim of Spring, Texas, Catherine Himel and husband Kent of New Iberia; sister, Sally Conley and husband Jack of Lindale, Texas; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dermont and Thelma Warren Lucas. Pallbearers will be Josh Lucas, Eric Lucas, Matthew Crochet, Jim Morgan, Kent Himel, and Camille Manck. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to CCA of New Iberia.
