Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2006, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Edward Antoine ""Ned"" Mouton, Sr. 88, who died Friday, September 29, 2006.
Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Mouton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
Survivors include six sons, Raymond Mouton and his wife, Scarlet of Breaux Bridge, Clifford Mouton of Scott, Milton Mouton and his wife, Nellie of Parks, Clifton Mouton and his wife, Paulette of St. Martinville, Wilfred Mouton of Breaux Bridge, and Harold John Mouton of Gonzales; four daughters, Jenny Abshire and her husband, Adam of Abbeville, Lorena Landry and her husband, Lindsey of Baton Rouge, Theresa Gautreaux and her husband, Jody of Gonzales, and Melissa Carpenter and her husband, Brad of Gonzales; his son-in-law, Carrol Pontiff, husband of Mildred, of Abbeville; his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Mouton, wife of Edward, Jr., of Alabama; one brother, Harry Mouton of Parks; thirty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Courville Mouton; his son, Edward Mouton, Jr.; his daughter, Mildred Pontiff; his parents, Louis and Ella Solories Mouton; his brothers, Patrick and J.B. Mouton; his sister, Margaret Dixon; his granddaughter, Patty Mouton; an infant grandson; and an infant great grandchild.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2006 and continue at 8:30 a.m. on Monday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Clifton Mouton, Wilfred Mouton, Kenneth Mouton, Cody Mouton, Joshua Meaux and Bryce Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
