Edwin "BaBa" Allemand

Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Edwin "BaBa" Allemand, 87, who passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024.

Rev. Reed Bellingham will officiate the Mass. Readers will be Karsyn Bellard and Brooke Carriere. Gift Bearers will be his great grandchildren.

Edwin "BaBa" a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born in Breaux Bridge, LA on July 12, 1937, Edwin dedicated his life to his family and his work. He was a hard worker, skilled mechanic, and veteran of the National Guard. He was devout Catholic and faithful to the Rosary and Brown Scapular.

Edwin's passion for farming and mechanics led him to a successful career in the auto industry, where he worked as a salesman at an auto parts store for 50 years. He was known for his dedication to his craft and his kindness toward others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Madia Trosclair Allemand; children, Ricky J. Allemand (Donna), Robert W. Allemand (Mary), Judy A. Bellard (Allen "Snake") and Cindy A. Pefferkorn (Doug); grandchildren, Rashelle Romero, Dustin Bellard, Faythe Hebert, Brooke Carriere, ElizaBeth Saintignan, Crystal Gallagher, Ashley Pefferkorn, Ryan Allemand, Hannah Stelly, and McKinzie Chappelle; great-grandchildren, Karsyn Bellard, Aubree Bellard, Colette Bellard, Elle Walker, Willow Hebert, Odie Hebert, Emma Carriere, Layne Carrier, Jaxton Stelly, Sullivan Stelly, Adaline Chapelle,  Weston Chapelle, Elijah Saintignan and Sean Saintignan; and two great-great grandchildren, Grayslynn Saintignan and Embry Saintignan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cabel and Angeline Thibodeaux Allemand; siblings, Lennis J. Allemand, Horace Allemand, Laura A. LeBlanc and Odette A. Babineaux; and parents-in-law, Clovis and Celina Barras Trosclair.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pallative Care and Hospice of Acadiana for the excellent care given to Edwin.
