Edwin O. Broussard

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 10:00 am Saturday, August 3, 2024, for Edwin O. Broussard, 104, who passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. 

Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Deacon Durk Viator will officiate. 

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. 

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday. 

Edwin O. Broussard was born in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana on March 12, 1920, to the late Orelie and Olive Duhon Broussard. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Over the span of his career, he worked for Holsum Bread for 20 years, drove a school bus (Bus 56) for the Iberia Parish School System for 20 years, then retired after 20 years as Deputy Assessor with the Iberia Parish Tax Assessor’s Office. He loved traveling with his late wife, Ethel, and enjoyed playing Bourrée several times a week. He will be deeply missed. 

Mr. Broussard is survived by five children, Glenn Broussard (Belda), Linda LeBlanc, Larry Broussard (Gloria), Cheryl Drake, and Sheila Pellerin (Richard); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel LeBlanc Broussard; daughter, Alberta Deslatte; grandson, Joey Broussard; brothers, Roy and Dallas Broussard; and sister, Anna Mae Lormand. 

Pallbearers will be Richard Pellerin, Logan Pellerin, Taylor Pellerin, Roland Gros, Chad Broussard, and Gene Romero.

Honorary pallbearers are Bret LeBlanc and Allen Romero. 

We bid farewell to a life well lived. May he rest in peace.
