St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville for Edwin C. Mayeux, 47, who passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
Pastor Tony Rosonet will officiate at the Funeral Service.
Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes.
Edwin worked all his life in the oilfield, where he was known as "Pee-Wee", and most recently spent 17 years at Baker Hughes. He loved being in his boat and tossing out his jug lines; but he was happiest when camping with his family, listening to classic country, hunting with the guys, and doing whatever it took to make his two girls happy. No matter the weather, he could always be found messing around in his shop and finding new things to add to his tractor or 4-wheeler. Edwin will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 25 years, Angela Romero Mayeux; daughter, Andrea Schouest and husband Justin; granddaughter, Samantha Schouest; father, Donald Mayeux and wife Rita; mother, Betty Freeman; brothers, Ace Mayeaux and wife Jenny, Donald Mayeaux, Heath Freeman, and Jake Freeman; sisters, Faith Blanchard and spouse Mitch, and Lisa Boudreaux; godchild, Jersii; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Derek Mayeaux; stepfather, Fred Freeman; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Ace Mayeaux, EJ Sonnier, Mitch Blanchard, Scott Landry, Shane Richard, and Billy Trimble.
