St. Martinville - Prayer service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in St. Martinville, for Edwin Richard, 75, who passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at his residence. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Port Barre. Mr. Richard loved to hunt and fish while spending time at the camp. ?He enjoyed spending time with his special caregivers, Cynthia and Junior Romero, who became his family that he loved dearly, along with his family whom he loved too. Survivors include three sons, Terry Richard, of Rayne, Travis Richard, of Gainsville, MO, and Paul Lee, of Ville Platte; two daughters, Michelle Woodward, of Gainsville, MO, and Sara Trivitt, of Franklin; one brother, John Berchman Richard, of Rayne; one sister, Hilda Richard Thibodeaux, of Port Barre; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugo and Elodie Richard; one daughter, Bernice Richard; two sons, Edwin Richard, Jr. and Steven Richard; four sisters, Evelyn Savoie, Olivia Allemond, Germaine Richard, and Lorena Barron; and five brothers, Felix Richard, Sr., Hugo Richard, Jr., Alcee Richard, Arthur Richard, and Steven Richard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
