Edwin Touchette

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 4, 2007, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Edwin Touchette,75 , who died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Entombment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Mausoleum in Arnaudville. Rev. Fr. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be, Scotty Touchette and Rachael Touchette, and the gift bearers will be, Elizabeth Touchette and Rachael Touchette. Mr. Touchette worked as a dredge boat deck captain for T.L. James (formerly Williams-McWilliams) for 32 years, until his retirement in 1985. His is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rita Mae Artigue Touchette, of Lafayette; two sons, Michael Touchette and his wife, Karen, of Lafayette, and Dale Touchette and his wife, Gail, of Scott; one brother, Edvard Touchette, Jr., of Magnolia, TX; one sister, Mary Foti, of St. Martinville; one half sister, Marie Herpin; four grandchildren, Scotty Touchette, and his wife, Elizabeth, Casey Touchette and his wife, Rachael, Matthew Touchette, and Cody Touchette; and two great grandchildren, Dylan and Logan Touchette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edvard Touchet, Sr., and Baptistine Douet Touchet.; his twin brother, Edward Touchette; three half brothers, Clarence Touchet, Henry Duhon, and Isadore Touchet; and two half sisters, Annie Mire and Mable Theriot,. The family requested that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Pallbearers will be Michael Touchette, Scotty Touchette, Matthew Touchette, Dale Touchette, Casey Touchette, and Cody Touchette. Honorary pallbearers will be Edvard Touchette, Jr. and Harris Guidry Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of arrangements.
