Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Elaine Guidry Cook, 71, who passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, and continue on Saturday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Donald Pousson will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Dustin Angelle and Gift Bearers will be her sisters. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Elaine loved animals, especially birds and dogs. She enjoyed shopping for antiques and spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Price of La Porte, Texas and Susan (Jeff) Faughn of Hardin, Texas; three sisters, Lydia Rose Brown of DeQuincy, Leanna (Duane) Huval of Baton Rouge, and Linda Faye (Thomas) Bellfy of Breaux Bridge; her brother-in-law, Howard G. Guidry; four grandchildren, Brandon Jeffery Faughn, Jacob Marcus Price, Amanda Faughn Starke, and Emilie Elaine Price; and her great grandson, Jaxson Starke. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by husband, Marcus A. Cook; her parents, Dalton A. and Gersie G. Guidry; her sister, Mary Ann G. Guidry; a brother-in-law, Alton L. Brown, Sr.; and two nieces, Deborah Huval and Laura Huval Aucoin. Pallbearers will be Brandon Faughn, Jacob Price, Scooter Brown, Dustin Angelle, Dillon Angelle, Duane Huval, and Dean Angelle.
