Parks, La. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Parks for Elaine Guidry Landry, 83, with Rev. Nicholas DuPré officiating. Scripture Reader will be Ashlyn Baudin, her great-granddaughter. Gift bearers will be Deacon Dennis Landry and Marella Huval Trahan, niece. The Homily will be delivered by her son, Deacon Dennis Landry.
Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 am by Deacon Dennis Landry, using one of his mother’s rosaries. The Cross that will be placed on her casket will be the same Cross that was placed on her father’s (Oscar Guidry) casket at his funeral in 1972.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
A native and lifelong resident of Parks, Mrs. Landry died at her residence in Parks surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 24, 1938, and graduated from Breaux Bridge Senior High, Class of 1956. Elaine was a devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Parks, where she received all her Sacraments.
Elaine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and was very devoted to her family and faith. Family was very important to her and she loved her husband and family unconditionally. She loved to cook and bake and always had enough for everyone and was loved and adored by all. Her friendship was a gift. She cherished Saturday morning coffee and biscuits with her family and family gatherings. She loved to receive hugs, but loved to give hugs the most. She loved being called Mamom and her face lit up the most when her grandsons and great-grandchildren called her name.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years, Harris Joseph Landry; children, Lennis Landry (Donna Durio), Deacon Dennis Landry, David Landry (Stephanie Hebert), Phyllis Landry Verret (James), Thomas “Gobbie” Landry (Phyllis Olivier), and Anna Landry Baudin (Keith); grandsons, Matt (Stacy) Landry, Grant (Katie) Landry, Michael (Megan) Hebert, Lyle (Bobbi) Landry, Chase (Jessica) Verret, Brock Landry, Hunter (Jeanne) Landry, Lane Landry, Brad Baudin, Chad Baudin, and Aaron (Stacey) Baudin; and her great-grandchildren, Emerson & Breaker Landry, Bellamy Landry, Jenna Delahoussaye, Mason, Harper, Christian, and Eli Hebert, Lily, Nora, & Jack Landry, James Martin Verret, Bennett, Evelyn “Evie”, and Collins Landry, Ashlyn, David, and Charleigh Baudin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Euprasie Landry Guidry, her in-laws Joseph and Edmia Delahoussaye Landry; brothers, John Guidry and Dewey Guidry; sisters, Una Guidry Cormier, Eunice Guidry Blanchard, Edna Guidry Blanchard, Jeanne Guidry Melancon, and Verna Guidry Huval.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Grant Landry, Lyle Landry, Chase Verret, Hunter Landry, Lane Landry, Aaron Baudin, Matt Landry, Michael Hebert, Brock Landry, Brad Baudin, and Chad Baudin.
Honorary pallbearers will be her god-children, Andy Guidry and Charles “Buck” Huval.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nursing Specialties Inc staff, especially Tina Sinegal (Nurse’s Aide) and Wendy Cole, RN.
“Pray for us O’Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.”
