VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM, Monday, September 20, 2010, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Elaine Bergeron Lemoine, 75, who passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 in Lafayette. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum. Born on March 5, 1935 in Cottonport, Mrs. Lemoine was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the French Music Association. She enjoyed tutoring for the PEPI, working with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and most of all spending time with her family. Mrs. Lemoine was a gifted caretaker who always thought of others. Survivors include her sons, Carl Lemoine of Port Barre, Gerald Lemoine of New Iberia, Peter Lemoine of New Iberia, Vernal Matthew Lemoine, Jr. of Vinton; sisters, Cora Guillory of Echo, Pearl Taylor of Opelousas; a special friend, Nancy Trahan of Youngsville; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernal Lemoine, Sr.; daughters, Angela Lemoine, and Kathleen Lemoine Ardoin; son, Bruce Lemoine; her parents, Emmanuel and Josephine Castet Bergeron; and her granddaughter, Delana Ardoin. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
