Elaine Messa

St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. , on Monday, January 30, 2012, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Elaine Rita Zegura Messa, 77, who passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center.. Fr. Austin Leger, will conduct the services. Reading the scriptures will be Louise Adcock and Debbie Nicosia. Stephanie Paternostro, Roxanna Graham and Lauren Messa will serve as gift bearers. Interment will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum in St. Martinville. Mrs. Messa enjoyed sewing, fishing and cooking very much; sharing her meals with family and friends. She took excellent care of her family. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Walter P. Messa, Sr., her sons, Walter P. Messa, Jr. and wife, Nancy, Rickey Messa and wife, Cheryl and Richard Messa and wife, Amy; her daughter, Brenda Wentzell; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Noella Deogratias Zegura, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 1:45 p.m, Monday by Deacon Cody Miller. Pallbearers will be Philip Messa, Jeremy Messa, Mike Messa, Roger Landry, Tim Oubre and Mike Paternostro.
