New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Elaine Simon Zimmerman, 71, who passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home.
A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Zimmerman and was born on July 25, 1947 to the late Lawless Simon and Lottie Guidry. She worked at One Hour Martinizing in New Iberia and at Garan’s in Kaplan, and was a great cook, especially known for her peanut butter fudge. Ms. Elaine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Stephen L. Freyou and wife Tracey of New Iberia; sisters, Connie Cormier of New Iberia, Sue Hebert and husband Morris of New Iberia; brothers, Donald Simon and wife Helen of Erath, Leroy Louviere, Jr. and wife Jennifer of New Iberia; step father, Leroy Louviere, Sr. of New Iberia; Granddaughters, Chelsie Freyou and fiance' Nicholas, Jeaneen LeBlanc and husband James; great grandchildren, Kynlee Ardizone, Jayce Hebert, and James LeBlanc, Jr..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Zimmerman; and a brother, Floyd Simon.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Freyou, James LeBlanc, Sr., Nicholas Ardizone, Morris Hebert, Jayce Hebert, and James LeBlanc, Jr.
