St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville for Elda Talley Dautreuil, 73, who passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday and continue on Wednesday at 8:00 am until time of service.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Tuesday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Elda was born January 5, 1947 in St. Martinville. She enjoyed sewing, drinking coffee, and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also loved to play Bourré with her godmother, Gladys, and friends every Wednesday. Elda was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner at St. Martin de Tours, where she often volunteered.
She is survived by her son, Dwight "Boo" J. Dautreuil (Norma); two daughters, Darlene D. Bergeron (Brandon) and Melanie D. Guidry (Jeffrey); seven grandchildren, Brandi Dautreuil Padgett (Chad), Jessie P. Dautreuil (Brittany), Blair J. Guidry, Callie Dautreuil, Annie Dautreuil, Drake Bergeron, and Nicole B. Meaux; great grandchild, Mason Joseph Dautreuil; brother, Ernie Talley (Stella); sister, Linda Talley; godmother, Gladys G. Berthelot; sister-in-law, Vickie D. Walker (Robert); and her loving cats which she loved dearly, Ginger and Freddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dwight Louis Dautreuil; parents, Jessie and Elda Mora Talley; brother, Albert Richard Talley; sister, Laura L. Savoie; infant brother, Tommie Talley; maternal and paternal grandparents; mother and father in-law, Roy and Electa Dautreuil; dear friend, Elizabeth Touchet; and her dog, Max.
Pallbearers will be Dwight "Boo" J Dautreuil, Jessie P. Dautreuil, Blair J. Guidry, Chad Padgett, Nolan Doucet, Jr., and Jeffery Guidry.
Honorary pallbearer will be Mason Joseph Dautreuil.
