Elder Viator Hebert

New Iberia – A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Elder Viator Hebert, 100, who passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Entombment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Deacon Chris Doumit will officiate.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Friday from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

A Rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hebert was born on August 22, 1923, to the late Edwin and Oza Guidry Viator. She worked as a secretary at New Iberia Senior High, for 20 years.

Survivors include her children, Andy Hebert (Debra Kay), Kammie Heldenbrand, Jodee Landrum (Steve), Norma Hebert, and Wendy Henderson; sister, Geraldine Dore; brother, Kevin Viator; seven grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph “Sue” Olton Hebert; sister, Gloria Peltier; brother, Edwin Viator, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Bill Heldenbrand.

The family would like to give special thanks to Lisa McGee, Chelsie Freyou, Michelle Minor, and Rhea Francois for their extraordinary care and compassion.

Pallbearers will be Steven Landrum, Jr., Eric Landrum, Chad Hebert, Sam Gaskins, Kevin Viator, and Harold Broussard.

Honorary pallbearers include Cooper Gaskins and Oliver Gaskins.
