Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm., Sunday, April 27, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Elie Guidry, 91, who died Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Maison de Lafayette in Lafayette.
Interment ?will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church will conduct the services.
Mr. Guidry was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carmalite Guild and Cursillo Movement. ?He was Trustee and Eucharistic Minister at St. Bernard Catholic Church. ?Mr. Elie enjoyed gardening, carpentry and spending time with his family, especially his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Vivian.
Survivors include his wife Vivian Castille Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his sons, David Wayne Guidry and his wife, Elaine of Youngsville, Jesse Elie Guidry and his wife, Karen of Sagle, ID, and Dennis Ray Guidry and his wife, Marsha Dunlop of Santa Fe, NM; his grandchildren, Toni Renee Buehring and her husband, Robert, Christopher Wayne Guidry and his wife, Meagan, Brigitte Michelle Stevens and her husband, Blake, Beverly Guidry, Jason Guidry and Angella Guidry; his great-grandchildren, Alexandra Mouton, Alyssa Buehring, Delainey Guidry, Brennon Stevens and Kristen Chaves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leo and Eva Guidry; an infant daughter, Mary Linda Guidry; his brothers, Oneal, Sidney, and Francis Guidry; and his sisters, Helen Huval, Edeze Timmons, and Lena LeBlanc.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be his sons, David, Jesse, and Dennis Guidry, Ernie Castille, Christopher Guidry, Rob Buehring and Blake Stevens.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
