New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2008, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Elise Scroggin Mixon, 77, who died Friday, October 24, 2008 in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum.
Rev. Gary Schexnayder will be the Celebrant.
Born on October 22, 1931 in Abbeville, Mrs. Mixon was deeply devoted to her family, who she dearly loved.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, F.G. "Boogie" Mixon, Sr.; sons, Frank George Mixon, Jr. and wife Cathy, of New Iberia, Henry Hubert Scroggin Mixon and wife Melissa of New Iberia; daughters, Virginia Elise Mixon Simoneaud and husband Wayne, of New Iberia, Stephanie Anne Mixon Trahan and husband Don, of Broussard, Eugenie Decuir Mixon Haik and husband Morris, of New Iberia, Elise Alverta Mixon Mestayer and husband Wade of New Iberia; sisters, Lorraine Callier of Abbeville, Joan Greco and husband David of Abbeville, Phallie Sellers and husband Gene of Abbeville; grandchildren, Wayne Simoneaud, II, Stuart Simoneaud, Emily Simoneaud Pridgen, Elliot Simoneaud, Ginna Simoneaud Judice, Katie Simoneaud, Jennifer Trahan Barber, Donald Trahan, II, Celeste Trahan, Frank G. Mixon, III, Melanie Mixon Boudreaux, William Mixon, Ansley Barnes, Henry Mixon, Jr., Jason Mixon, Carrol Paul Mixon, Matt Naquin, Chance Mixon, Michael Haik, Johnnah Haik Theriot, Eugenie Haik, Renie Mestayer; great grandchildren, Stuart Simoneaud, II, Jon David Judice, Nicholas Barber, II, Braxton Barber, Chandler Mixon, Chloe' Mixon, Cali Mixon, Gage Mehalko, Patton Barnes, Cameron Mixon, Houston Theriot, Macey Theriot, Georgia Grace Theriot, and Morris Michael Haik IV due to arrive next week.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Hubert Scroggin and Alverta Alice Wright Scroggin, a daughter-in-law, Patty Broussard Mixon; a brother, Henry Hubert Scroggin, Jr. and 5 great grandchildren.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Wayne Simoneaud, II, Donald Trahan, II, Frank G. Mixon, III, Henry Mixon, Jr., Michael Haik, and Chance Mixon.
A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will continue Monday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
