Graveside services for Mrs. Elizabeth J. Lee will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, Louisiana, with the Rev. Robert Vincent officiating. ;
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers, Pineville. ;
Mrs. Lee, 89, a longtime resident of Alexandria, died peacefully Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her son's home in New Iberia, with her family at her side. ;
She was born November 26, 1919, in Clover, South Carolina, to John Andrew Jackson and Mattie Belle Love Jackson. A resident of Alexandria since 1955, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years. She was a member of Pineville Presbyterian Church. ;
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 56 years, Ralph K. Lee; and her brother, William Knox Jackson. ;
She is survived by three children, her son Ralph (Bud) K. Lee, Jr., and his wife Winnie, of New Iberia; two daughters, Judith Smith and her husband, James of Vienna, Virginia, and Jennifer Hall, of Tyler, Texas; nine grandchildren: Chris Hall (Noushin), Karen Hall, Cherie Bailey (Chad), Jamie Babineaux (Maria), Jared Smith, Jason Smith, Cheramie DiMenna (Victor), Lindy Monteleone (Brian) and Sarah Ann Lee, and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sara L. Jackson, of Clover, South Carolina; several cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. ;
The family wishes to express its thanks to her caregivers for the last 2 months, Miss Alice "Toy" Butler, Annette Daniels, Cheryl Thibodeaux and Josephine Brooks, and a special thanks to Simone Babineaux and Dr. Roy Landry of Hospice of Acadiana. ;
Pallbearers will be Chris Hall, Jared O. Smith, James E. Smith, Chad Bailey, Brian Monteleone and Victor DiMenna. ;
