St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2008, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Elizabeth Francis Pradier, 97, who passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Home in St. Martinville. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Rev. Tarsisius Puling will officiate at the funeral Mass.
Elizabeth Francis Pradier, affectionately known as ""Nan"" to all of her family and friends, was born to the union of Henry Francis and Isabella Taylor in St. Martinville, Louisiana.
Nan spent a fruitful life in St. Martinville as a homemaker. ?She was a faithful member of Notre Dame Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Adult Choir, Legion of Mary and Altar Ladies. ?In 1926, she married Mitchell Pradier and was blessed with six children, John, Murphy, Clifton, Henry, Joyce, and Lee Earl.
Nan enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and close friends. ?She also loved to cook and bake. ?Her house was always the place for family gatherings. ?In addition, Nan was a pillar of the St. Martinville community. ?She was always willing to lend a helping hand by visiting with the sick, and assisting in transporting neighbors and friends to church and doctor visits.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Francis and Isabella Taylor Francis; husband, Mitchell E. Pradier; sisters, Emily Francis Davis, Mabel Francis Lee, and Daisy Francis Fontenette; brothers, John Francis, Harry Francis and Illinoise Eddie Francis; and her sons, John Pradier, Sr., Murphy Pradier, Sr., Clifton Pradier, Sr., and Lee Earl Pradier, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her daughter, Joyce Pradier Simon (Leroy), of Port Arthur, TX; son, Henry Pradier (Germaine), of Humble, TX; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Pradier, of Houston, TX; 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 33 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Thursday, January 31, 2008 beginning at 7:00 a.m. and continue until 10:00 a.m. ?A rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be John Pradier, Jr., Murphy Pradier, Jr., Sherman Pradier, Clifton Pradier, Jr., Larry Pradier, and Jonanthony Pradier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Pradier, Lee Earl Pradier, Jr., Glen Pradier, Henry Fontenette, Harry Francis, Jr., Leroy Simon, and Christopher Simon Laverne.
The family wishes to thank you for your words of comfort, your prayers, cards, flowers, your kindness and generosity. ?We shall forever be grateful in prayer, in hope, and in peace.
