New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2006, at a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Elizabeth Minvielle Resweber, 82, who passed away Thursday morning August 17, 2006 at her residence.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Rev. Mark Derise, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help CatholicChurch, will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
A native of New Iberia, Elizabeth is the daughter of the late Leon Minvielle, Sr. and Georgina Harry Minvielle. Having taught school for 28 years, she was a member of the DAR, the Genealogical Society of New Orleans, and was a voracious reader and bridge player. Elizabeth was someone whose ""favorite"" is her family.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Douglas Resweber of Baton Rouge, James Michael Resweber and his wife, Mary Kathryn of New Iberia; daughters, Millie Resweber Zimmer of New Iberia, Elizabeth Resweber Bernard and her husband Kent J. Bernard, Sr. of New Iberia; brother, Leon J. Minvielle, Jr. of New Iberia; grandchildren, Charles Zimmer, Christine Zimmer Simoneaud, Laura Zimmer, Elise Bernard Vega, Kent J. Bernard, Jr., Wade Bernard, Melissa Bernard, Kathryn Resweber, Michael Resweber, Theresa Marie Resweber; and great grandchildren, Abby Zimmer, Jacob Zimmer, and Emily Vega.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Mildred Minvielle Duhe.
Honored to serve as pallbearers, are Charles Zimmer, Kent J. Bernard, Jr., Wade Bernard, Steuart Simoneaud, Phillip Vega, and Gerald Faulk.
Honorary Pallbearers include, Glen Ortego, Dr. James Walker, Dr. Jose Mata, Allen Duhe, and Billy Gesser.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
