Elizabeth Mergist Touchet

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM, on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Elizabeth Mergist Touchet, 65, who passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in New Iberia, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. Entombment will be in Holy Family Cemetery at a later date. Born on October 13, 1943 in Erath, Mrs. Touchet worked for Hardy Landry Flooring. She and her husband, Norman, were married on July 15, 1976. She enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Norman Touchet of New Iberia; son, Tim Louviere and wife Melinda of New Iberia; daughter, Meloney Landry and husband Glenn of Erath; step children, Tim Touchet, Glenn Touchet, Troy Touchet, and Pam Broussard all of New Iberia; brother, Rickey Mergist of New Iberia; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sabray and Eula David Mergist; and a sister, Geraldine "Jerry" Thibodeaux Romero. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 9:30 AM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
